The Little Apple Notification List

After quite a bit of brainstorming and weighing the pros and cons of different types of reservation lists, we finally settled on keeping a single notification list for all our future litters. There is no commitment required to be on this list and everyone on the list has an equal opportunity to reserve one of our kittens. This is a little different than you may have seen with other breeders, but we think that overall it is the most fair for both us and our customers. If you'd like to be added to our list, just let us know.

How the List Works
In a nutshell, we have decided to only take deposits for specific kittens. Our reasoning behind this approach is that we think matching a kitten's personality, temperament, and color/pattern with what each individual is looking for is very important. If we have a litter of 4 kittens and have 4 people put down deposits, there's no guarantee that all 4 people would get exactly what they are looking for. The fourth person on the list would get the last pick and may have to settle for a kitten whose personality or coloring is not quite what they are looking for.

So, rather than taking deposits before our kittens are born, we have decided to keep a notification list of everyone who is interested in purchasing a kitten from us. There is no commitment required to be on the list and we'll keep sending you notifications of new litters until you've either purchased a kitten or asked to be removed from our list. And don't worry, we won't share your email address with anyone else (we don't like junk email either!) Once you're on our list, here's what you can expect:

  1. When the kittens of a litter are about 8 to 9 weeks old we send out an email to everyone on the list with a brief update and information on exactly what date and time we will post the pictures on our website and begin accepting deposits for that litter.
  2. At the date and time given in the first email, we will post pictures, personality profiles, weight and price of each kitten. Everyone on the list will have access to this information at the same time and we will then begin accepting deposits for individual kittens on a first-come basis.

A Few Exceptions
We do reserve the right to send out early notifications to certain people. If someone has been waiting for a while or has missed out on previous litters, we may give them an early notification and allow them to make a deposit before we make the information about a litter available to the rest of the notification list. If another breeder is interested in a kitten and one of the kittens is breeder quality, we will notify them first to see if they are interested in that particular kitten. And finally, we may occasionally wish to keep one of the kittens at Little Apple either as a breeder or show cat. In that case, we would make this decision before emailing the notification list.

Getting Signed Up
Recently we have had a lot of interest in new and upcoming litters. If you're interested in a Little Apple kitten, we'd encourage you to get signed up on our notification list. We'd also encourage you to head over to our resource library where we've posted a number of articles about our cattery and ragdolls in general.
